In collaboration with the Municipality of Heraklion, we created a logo, and infographics for the city's nomination to the Commission's call to become part of the European Mission "100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030" What was required from our design was to visualize concepts such as Clean and affordable energy, Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy, Decent Work and Economic Development, Industry – Innovation and Infrastructure, Reducing inequalities, Sustainable Cities and Settlements, Responsible – Sustainable Production and Consumption as well as Climate Action, which were and the main axes of our city's politics. With infographics, we wanted to explain and simplify the above axes in a pleasing, attractive, and simple way. For the logo we used the letter H, the first letter of the city name. The design is inspired by the Minoan symbol with the double horns, the "Horns of Dedication". It was a symbol of the worship of the "Minoans" and a common decorative motif in Crete and can be admired by everyone who visits the archaeological site of Knossos. In the center of the logo, you see the human to declare the anthropocentricity of the city's efforts. We kept the design simple, fresh, and memorable.
